Long-term and safe exploitation of rolling stock is impossible without periodic maintenance and repair work. Maintenance of a locomotive  includes:

  • Lubrication of parts rubbing against each other;
  • Checking the serviceability of the chassis;
  • Checking of the brake locomotive equipment;
  • Checking the operation of control systems, alarms, etc.

Repair work, in turn, includes:

  • Audit of the general condition of the locomotive and detection of all malfunctions;
  • Restoration or complete replacement of failed parts and components;
  • Carrying out of test tests, adjustment of work of all systems before commissioning.
  • Obtaining a technical solution, which fixes the period of extension of the repaired locomotive.

The first big preventive inspection of rolling stock (TO2) is recommended after 100 hours of operation of the diesel engine. The so-called “small periodic repair” (TO3) is on time after 500 hours, “large periodic repairs” —after 3000 hours, and the most global (overhaul) — after 6000 hours.

Prior to commissioning, all locomotives of the Ukrainian Cargo Locomotive Company undergo a mandatory major maintenance procedure, which provides for:

  1. Disassembly of the locomotive into separate units and aggregates;
  2. Their cleaning from dirt, old paint, rust;
  3. Defecting units, aggregates and details of the locomotive
  4. Repair or replacement of damaged or worn units, aggregates and details of the locomotive;
  5. Engine remotorization (installation of a more modern analogue)
  6. Overhaul of the driver’s cab with replacement by replacement of insulation, finishing materials, floors, installation of additional heating, painting of control panels, etc.;
  7. Painting of the locomotive in the colors of the customer company for the application of its logo on board the repaired locomotive;
  8. Carrying out start-up and adjustment works on the territory of the Customer’s enterprise
  9. The first maintenance is free;
  10. Warranty for 12 months.
